Bicentennial Man blog.
The example in the movie that Andrew show he didn’t past the turning test in the beginning was when sir said good night to him, he kept repeating. But after he falling out of the window, he started talk differently, more intelligent and like humans.
The example in the movie that shows the robot is alive was when he become a new member in the family, and doing things for the family, like cooking, cleaning etc. also obey human’s order. it is consider to be alive, and AI. Because he can has conversation with people, and understand human being.
When the robot update as more like human being, he has his own thinking, and ask to be free. And his master allow he do that, but kick him out at the same time in order to be free, I think a robot should be free when he has enough human knowledge. But he still need to help or obey human’s order when they need it.
When Andrew kept updating his program, he asked to be look like human and even has blood and can died, but he is successful. He has human’s body, human being, human’s emotion, so he fall in love with Porsha, after he transfer to human’s bleed and cant live forever, the world court prove their marriage. I think it is fine that robot marry to a human if they really fall in love and the robot has all the human being. Its not really different from human marriage.
When Andrew has human face, human body, he also want to be equal to human. Because he also has feeling and heart, he is not only a machine. He can feel the world, so I think if a robot can be no immoral, he can equal with human.
I think AI will be a good thing for humanity like Bicentennial Man. Because even though they are intelligent like human, they still a robot that design and made by human. They need to follow the 3 rules and obey human’s order. If the design is perfect and complete, I don’t think people need to worry about if AI will try to control the world like Flatline, instead they can help human and protect human.
